, A. Analyze information about the target audience of learners from the case study you chose
in Task 1 to do the following:
1. Briefly describe the instructional setting and target learners from the case study you
chose in Task 1 to provide context for your work in this task.
The instructional setting for the target learners in Golden Maple Middle School. This
school is established for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The study that I chose to provide
context for is the 6th-grade students. This school has been scoring consistently in the
higher 70% range of schools in their state for standardized testing. Most students have
internet access at home and are provided with one-to-one technology devices. (WGU,
2023)
2. Identify an instructional problem related to the learners from the case study that can
be solved through instruction or training.
One instructional problem I identified from the Golden Maple 6th Grade Case Study was
that
students could benefit from more instructional support in social studies. In this area, only
16% of the students are proficient in the category of “classify renewable and non-
renewable natural resources found in the United States” (WGU, 2023).
3. Describe the following as they relate to an instructional problem identified in part A2
and the target learners:
• current state of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs)
Current knowledge is that 16% of the students are proficient in their skills. While 60%
were developing these skills, only 24% were emerging in these skills. The learners
rate similarly in other important areas of social studies, such as explaining the powers
