HISTORY
Chief Complaint (CC):
• “I’ve been having lower abdominal pain and some spotting.”
History of Present Illness (HPI):
• 28-year-old female presenting with lower abdominal discomfort and light
vaginal spotting for the past 2 days
• Pain began gradually and feels like a mild cramping or pressure in the
lower abdomen
• Pain is intermittent, rated about 5/10, and has not become severe
• Reports light vaginal spotting, dark brown to light red in color
• Bleeding is minimal and not heavy enough to soak pads
• Last normal menstrual period was approximately 6 weeks ago
• Menstrual cycles are usually regular
• Unsure if she could be pregnant
• Denies passing clots or tissue
• Reports mild lightheadedness, but no fainting
• Denies severe unilateral pelvic pain or shoulder pain
