EXAM QUESTION PAPER INSTRUCTIONS:
1. This is a limited open-book examination. The only material you are allowed to use during the
examination is:
a. Pre-seen information.
b. VBA Coding Sheet 2025.
You are not allowed to copy from or consult any other sources. This includes but is not limited to your
study material, websites, and artificial intelligence tools. You are also not allowed to consult any third
party for the duration of the exam session.
2. This is an individual assessment and collaboration with other students (or groupwork) is not allowed.
3. This paper consists of four (4) questions with subsections.
4. You are strongly advised to carefully read the required before attempting the questions concerned.
5. All questions and sub-sections must be answered.
6. Each question must be commenced on a new (separate) page.
7. All workings, where applicate must be shown.
8. Include your student number in your VBA comments and PDF answer file.

The Invigilator App
Please take note that the use of The Invigilator App is compulsory for this assessment/exam.
Please take note that The Invigilator App will request you take a picture of every page of your answer
sheet at the end of the assessment.
Please take note that this does NOT replace your formal answer file to “scan and upload” to your
Learning Management System (myExams). You must upload your answer file to myExams.
INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DAY OF ASSESSMENT:
• Ensure you are connected to the internet in order to log into
the Invigilator App and scan this QR code.
• If you encounter difficulty in scanning the QR code, you can
alternatively enter the Exam Access Code below the QR
code to start the invigilation.
• If you finish your assessment before the app timer has run
out you need to press the ‘Finish Assessment’ button and
follow instructions before you exit or minimise the app.
Please note that the ‘Finish Assessment’ button will not
appear immediately, it will only appear after the prerequisite
minimum time to write your assessment has lapsed.
• Scan the QR code at the start time of the assessment. Note
that you can only scan this QR code once.
• The Invigilator App will request you to take photos of your
examination script after the assessment. Please follow the
instructions on the app and take note that your academic institution still requires you to submit your
script on the relevant portal.
• The QR code is only scannable for a limited time and it should therefore be scanned as soon
as possible to start the invigilation.
• Keep the Invigilator App open on your smartphone for the full duration of the assessment. You are not
allowed to minimise or leave the app during your assessment.
• You must adhere to the assessment time limit communicated to you by your institution. The timer
displayed in the Invigilator may vary depending on the start time of invigilation.
FURTHER GUIDANCE
• If you only have one device you may access your assessment in the application by pressing the
‘Access Browser’ button in the top right corner of your app.
• Once the QR code is scanned, ensure your media volume is turned up and place your smartphone
next to you.
• The Invigilator App will notify you with a notification beep when you are required to action a photo
request, which you should then perform as soon as possible.
• We recommend that you keep your smartphone on charge for the duration of the assessment.
• Ensure you are connected to the internet when commencing invigilation. You also need to be
connected to the internet at the end of the assessment to upload the app data gathered during
invigilation. It is advisable to upload app data as soon as possible after the assessment. Institutions
do apply a limited time to upload app data.
• If your assessment has multiple online sections, tests or attempts, you should NOT finish the
invigilation until your entire assessment has been completed.

INSTRUCTIONS - ACCESS myEXAMS AND UPLOADING ANSWER FILES:
Follow these steps to access myExams and submit your take-home answer file.
Direct link to access the myExams portal (College of Accounting Sciences):
https://cas.myexams.unisa.ac.za/my/
Access the myExams portal and navigate to the module site and take-home assessment:
1. Go to the College of Accounting Sciences’ myExams portal
https://cas.myexams.unisa.ac.za/my/
2. Use your myUnisa email address and password to sign in.
3. Click on the myExams button in the header and select the module, AIN3701-25-EX10, for which
you need to complete the exam.
4. On the module’s exam page select the Take-Home assessment
AIN3701-Exam Oct/Nov 2025.
5. You can now review the assessment information and start.
The exam paper will remain available throughout the examination session.
Commence the submission (uploading) of your script as soon as you have completed the assessment,
do not wait for the session to conclude.
You MUST start the upload process promptly at 13:45 (at the latest). The system will close after the
allowed upload time (14:15) and NO late submissions will be accepted. DO NOT continue writing during
the upload (submission) time.
You MUST convert your WORD document file to PDF.
Then the PDF file, together with the XLSM (Excel enabled workbook) and XLSX (Excel workbook)
should be submitted. Please adhere to the instructions of your file name as indicated in the examination
paper.
Follow the steps below to complete and submit a Take-Home exam assessment:
1. Open the Take-Home assessment AIN3701-Exam Oct/Nov 2025.
2. Download the question paper and note any additional information provided, such as the
proctoring tool to be used.
Please take note that the use of The Invigilator App is compulsory for this exam. Failure to use
the application will result in your exam mark being retained/withheld.
3. Complete the Take-Home assessment as instructed in the examination question paper, using both
Microsoft Word and Excel.
Note: MS Word documents need to be saved as PDF documents.
The PDF file, together with the XLSM (Excel enabled workbook) and XLSX (Excel workbook)
should be submitted. Please adhere to the instructions of your file name as indicated in the
examination question paper.
4. When ready to submit, open the Take-Home assessment again and click on the Add Submission
button.
Note: You only get 10 minutes after the due time to submit your script on the Invigilator App and
30 minutes on the myExams portal.
5. Note the file requirements such as file size limit and make sure ALL your pages are converted
(WORD document) into a single PDF document for uploading (Make sure the file is not read-only
or password protected).
