The Day My Life Changed

, For: my family, friends and who never doubted me. To Jake, Jason and Zoey to allow me
to make their story into writing and on pages in a book that we will always hold dear to our
hearts.
, Chapter 1: High School
Once Upon a Time, there was a family that moved to Dallas, Texas in the year of 2018.
This family was a family full of love, laughter, and joy. It is almost the first day of school of
Jake’s senior year of high school. This is a whole new school for Jake. His mother Aubrey keeps
telling Jake that senior year will be fun. His parents are divorced. It is only Jake and his mother
now. Jake’s parents divorced when Jake was 16 years old. A lot has happened in Jake’s life. He
is battling with cancer and trying to figure out who he is as a person and what his feelings are
towards love.
On the first day of school, Jake is excited to meet his new friends and his new teachers.
As he walks on campus, he notices that it is a bigger and more open campus than his previous
schools that he went to. As the first bell rings for the first period Jake walks in very nervously.
He doesn't know where to sit or where to put his backpack. Lunch is coming up and he has yet to
make friends. The bell rings for the lunch period of the day. Jake goes into the lunchroom and
sits at a table to eat.
As lunch went on, another student came and sat next to him. Jake said “, My name is
Jake, and I just moved here from California ''. Back in California there weren't that many people
who liked or cared about me. So, I hope at my new school it is a different story”. The girl
responded “Hi, my name is Zoey, and I was wondering if you wanted to be my friend?”. As they
continued to talk, they got to know each other better and better and soon enough they became the
closest friends Jake could ever ask for.
Jake was very grateful that he had met someone like Zoey. The lunch bell rings and it’s
time to go to the two periods of the day. As Jake is walking to class, he sees a guy about his age.
Jake always knew he was different when it came to love another person but when he saw this
