Task 1

Meaning
I would prepare various images of toys for both boys and girls. I would place
the images around the classroom in different places. I would stand by
different images and do TPR using “thumbs up” for “I like.” and “thumbs
down” for “I don’t like.”

Pronunciation
I would model the sentences: “I like dolls./I dislike stuffed animals.” and ask
students to repeat after me. While listening to the repeated language, I
would ensure students were using correct pronunciation.

Form
I would write different phrases about likes and dislikes on the board.

Task 2

Meaning
I would begin by pointing to someone’s pencil and extending my hand, open-
palmed, as a gesture for asking for something.

Pronunciation
I would model the phrase: “May I borrow a pencil?” and ask students to
repeat after me. I would focus on students’ intonation and clarity. I would
then place the students in pairs and ask them to practice asking each other.

Form
I would write the word, “borrow” on the board and explain that this is the
action word or verb.
