Free-living, non-parasitic soil nematode (roundworm)
Small (~ 1 mm)
Feeds on microbes, primarily bacteria
Non-hazardous, non-infectios, non-pathogenic
Found throughout the world
Nickname “the worm”
The germ cells are produced at the distal gonad; they grow and develop till they reach the
spermatheca. After the fertilization they are called embryos and are nearby the vulva. Via the vulva
the eggs are released.
