Assignment 3

Innovation and enterprise has been successful for Apple as their reputation is still very good as they
are still well known brand and business as people are still purchasing their products such as the
phones and computers. The risks of Apples innovation was that they produced Apple TV in 1993 and
it became a major fail and the reason why it became a fail was because the Macintosh TV let you
watch TV using its cable-ready tuner, but not while you used the computer. It was an underpowered
machine lacking expansion options, and it was cancelled after a year. Another product that Apple
produced and failed was the Apple Pippin. It was launched during the same time period as the
Nintendo 64, PlayStation and the Saga Return, so the market was already well saturated. The reason
why it failed was because the console itself didn’t have any in-built storage for the games or
operating system which made the console itself less reliable.

The benefits of Apples enterprise was that more people are in use of the iMac as there was a 74%
increase along with 74% increase in the use of phones and tablets. The risk of Apples Enterprise was
that they do not dominate in the enterprise section however their focus on end user needs is setting
the bar on what to expect. The benefits of Apples Enterprise was that security is very good for a
large business like Apple.

Apple’s Innovation and Enterprise is that it has been successful for Apple as their reputation or
brand is still very well known and still good as people still purchase their technologies. For Apples
Innovation it has encouraged them to develop many technologies such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac
Book, iMac and the apple watch by upgrading them over a certain time period it will grab people’s
attention and therefore they will make purchase of it which means they will make revenue. The
amount of revenue that Apple has made in 2019 was $64 billion. Another benefits that Innovation
had on Apple was that it reduces the costs and can improve processes and make them more
efficient. The risks of Innovation that Apple have is that the TV they produced in 1993 wasn’t very
popular as they expected to be. The reason why it failed was because the Macintosh TV let you
watch TV using its cable-ready tuner, but not while you used the computer.
This could have had an impact on Apple
as a business as they could have lost customers or even loss their reputation as well. However, as of
now Apple is now producing new and improved smartphones and Mac Books to make people make
purchase of it.

Enterprise is also successful because 74% organisations saw an increase in the IMac and 74% people
saw an increase in the use of phones and tablets. This means 91% organisations prefer using IMacs
and 99% people prefer using phones and tablets. Another benefit of Apples enterprise is that
security is very good for a large business like Apple, as they need the Data Protection and other sorts
of protection that is needed. Global markets for the Company's products and services are highly
competitive and subject to rapid technological change, and the Company may be unable to compete
effectively in these markets. This is a risk for the business .The risk of Apples enterprise was that they
do not currently dominate in the enterprise section as their main focus was on end user needs is
setting the bar on what to expect.

An Evaluation of how Apple has made use of Innovation and Enterprise in relation to it’s changing
market and environment.

Apple’s Innovation and Enterprise

Apples Innovation and Enterprise it has been successful as even though some of their products have
been unsuccessful however it didn’t drastically change for them as they were still in demand due to
them producing the latest smartphones along with other technologies in the 21 st century onwards,
this meant that their brand and reputation didn’t decrease however increased due to Apple’s
innovating the iPhones to make them better and make people purchase it. As Apple are operated in
a saturated market this means that there are many businesses that produce similar products as to
Apple does in smartphones, their main competitors are Samsung, Microsoft and Huawei and many
others.

The way Apple responded to changes in the market and environment

The way Apple responded to changes in the market is by responding more to the consumer trends in
the market rather than be leading the product categories with first-to-market devices. For example,
Apple created the iPhone 5 in 2012 with a screen larger than the previous iPhone devices after
ignoring the growing market for large screen devices.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Innovation and Enterprise

The benefits of Innovation is that there will be improvements to the products. This means that the
products will be better than it was before which will lead to having new customers, by having more
customers buying the product it will lead to business making more sales and revenue. Another
benefit of Innovation is that it will improve brand recognition and also value. By improving the brand
recognition and value it will help the business attract more customers as they will be familiar with
the brand and the business.

The risks of Innovation is that you could fail to meet the quality, cost or rescheduling requirements
which therefore means that you have wasted time and also money on Innovating something that
isn’t a success. Another risk of Innovation is that you might not understand the customer needs and
therefore you will fail to deliver those needs if the product that is innovated is to be unsuccessful.

For Apple, benefits of Apples enterprise was that more people are in the use of the iMac as there
was a 74% increase along with 74% increase in the use of phones and tablets. The risk of Apples
Enterprise was that they do not dominate in the enterprise section however their focus on end user
needs is setting the bar on what to expect. The benefits of Apples Enterprise was that security is very
good for a large business like Apple.

The benefit of Apple’s Innovation was that it reduces the costs and can improve processes and make
them more efficient. This meant that Apple could use the money that was saved could be used for
Marketing or even Innovating other products to be even more successful. Another benefit of Apple’s
Innovation was that Innovation has encouraged and motivated them to be able to develop the
technologies such as iPhone, iPad, Mac Book, iMac and the apple watch by developing them
furthermore over a certain time period then it will grab people’s attention and therefore they will
make purchase of it which means they will make more revenue and also sales.

In conclusion to the use of Innovation and Enterprise is that Apple have to make sure that they
understand what the customer needs are before developing something that won’t generate sales
and profit, otherwise the money that was spent on innovating the product will be seen as useless
and unsuccessful. If Apple do understand their customers needs then they will know what they need
to innovate their products. For a large business like Apple security is very good for them so that they
are safe in the business store as well as online. Once Apple do innovate their products and
