Week 1 Discussion
Although cyber security and computer forensics have different motivations, their primary
goal is the same: to safeguard users' digital information and assets. Both fields use
high-tech tools and software to accomplish this goal. Through this course, I will learn
techniques for enhancing my skills in the computer forensic field.
There are several reasons why cybercrime is a growing threat:
More people are engaging in remote working and using technology.
Devices are becoming automated as part of the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
Criminals have more sophisticated tools at their disposal.
The increase in e-learning has exposed the field to a new threat: cybercrime.
Cybercriminals find ways to extort money from schools, steal sensitive information or
deploy ransomware schemes.
