A1. Teacher’s Role in Differentiation
In this video the teacher did an awesome job keeping students engaged in
the learning process of the lesson. She rotated between groups and assigned
specific task to each student. Within the group of students there was someone
who built the car, someone setting up the ramp, someone recording the data, and
one student asking questions. The teacher did a great job using questioning
techniques to allow the students to dig for a deeper understanding of the how
and why. The teacher planned this lesson and thought about the timing of doing
this science lesson in the morning so that students would be actively engaged
(ATLAS,2014). I feel the educator demonstrated differentiated instructional
practices by, strategically assigning jobs within each group. Her questioning and
reflective practice challenged all students in the group. At one point she asked a
student what a group member had said, and the student was not sure, so she had
another team member repeat his thought for better understanding and
