1.1.3. Reading for detailed comprehension
When you want to become a lecturer at the English department, you do not need to have experience
as a teacher in a secondary school, researchers do teach as well.

As a teacher you need to be able to explain why a certain tense is used. There isn’t really a clear
consensus on how to teach English; there are a lot of teaching methodologies/theories.

‘Monkey see, monkey do’ is the same as ‘practise what you preach’. (explicit modeling)

Active students are more likely to pass than passive students.

We won’t only study American and British culture but also try to discover other cultures in which
English had played a vital role.
