- AIMS : abnormal involuntary movement

- Do not take anticoagulants
- Do not take aspirin
- Check for allergy : iodine / shellfish
- KUB you do not inject dye (diffrence)
Preventing constipation
- High fiber : pears with skin
- Ambulation
- Increase fluids

- Reduces stress
- Motion - if someone is in pain, they will start moving and dancing so it will help with
ambulation
- Helps with movement
- Verbally expresses self
Atorvastatin
- A/E: muscle weakness / muscle myopathy = rhabdomyolysis , muscle breaking
- Hepatotoxic : liver toxicity, ALT, AST, ALP
Montelukast
- Give at bedtime / evening
- For asthma (chronic asthma)
- Can lead to sucidal thoughts
- Take before strenuous activity. Do not take double if u take for both asthma and
strenuous activity
Furosemide effectiveness
- Weight loss due to excretion og edema
- Clear lung sounds
Tuberculosis
- RIPE
- Rifampin - dont wear white clothing bc it can cause orange secretions
- Isoniazid - S/E: nerve damage
- Vitamin b6 to help with reduce s/e of isoniazid
- Vitamin b6= pyridoxine
- Pyrazinamide = hepatotoxicity
- Ethambutol = messes with Eye acuity
- Nursing interventions :
- Airborne precautions
- Wear mask if client has to leave room
- Increase fluids
- Negative airflow pressure room
- Ventilation goes straight to environment
- Client Education:
- Wear mask
- Have family tested
- Have PPD : mantoux test
- 0.1mL : TB syringe
- 48 - 72 hour

- Stop infusion bc it’s not going int vein. Not managing tissue but extravation it is.
- Swelling of fingers
- Elevate to reduce swelling
- Assess VS
- Solution does not go into vein and goes around it. It is pulling from skin so it will be
swollen.
- Cold IV solution
- Extravasation : fluid is damaging to the tissue causing necrosis

- S/S to report: peteachiae and SOB bc of pulmonary embolism

- Tomatoes
- Banana
- Spinach
Purpose: wet-to-dry dressing
- Remove dead tissue
- Wet to moisten skin and debridement to scrape off

Before / During / After Blood Transfusion
- Before:
- informed consent x2 nursing verification
- Cross-match blood types
- Doctor’s order
- Asessment of VS to have baseline
- Assess skin to see if they have hives before
- Benadryl : allergic reaction (diohenhydramine)
- Tylenol : acetaminophen bc the allergic reaction can be febrile (fever)
- During :
- assessment of VS
- we can do blood transfusion for 2-4 hours
- stay with client for 15-30 minutes
- give within 30 mins to start when you get the blood. If after 30 mins like 31
minutes, you cant give the blood.
