Gender based violence
Gender-based violence (GBV) and economic insecurity have been linked for some time, according to specialists in the field. Although GBV affects people of all backgrounds and locations, those with less money to spend are more likely to be victims. Across the globe, areas with higher rates of conflict, less social assistance, and inferior legal systems are home to the most significant concentrations of economically insecure people. However, financial vulnerability or chronic poverty also increases the risk of GBV by making people and households more vulnerable to acute stress and the use of unhealthy coping mechanisms
