the fundamental study of the nature of:
reality (metaphysics) - what is real?
value (axiology) - what is right?
knowledge (epistemology) - how do we know?
philosophy develops critical questions and guiding thoughts that help us
understand the nature of reality, value and knowledge
Metaphysics
Plato’s Cave Allegory: does our sense perception give us access to reality? is
what we see real or do we need an extra effort to access true reality?
The apparatus theory by Jean Louis Baudry: just like Plato’s cave allegory, when
watching films in a cinema, people watch a projection of the real world.
How does what we see on screen relate to reality?
Ontology
The branch of philosophy (inside metaphysics) that investigates the nature of
