Ill-treatment - includes sexual abuse and forms of ill treatment which
are not physical
Harm - “ill-treatment or the impairment of health or development
including, for example, impairment suffered from seeing or hearing
the ill-treatment of another”

• Authorises police to remove a child to be placed into suitable
accommodation
• Unable to authorise forced entry
• Lasts 72 hours

neglect a child by inflicting harm on them, or by failing to act to prevent
harm
