1.0 Introduction
A report has been requested from Mr Matthews, the line manager of the administrations
department of Southern Regional College. This report will identify two sets of information
used to make two strategic decisions by SRC. The information used will be identified and the
appropriateness of the information used to make these decisions will be evaluated.
The two strategic decisions made by SRC are the proposed £22.5 million Further Education
campus in Craigavon, which will be studied first, followed by the decision to withdraw the
BTEC first course for business in the college.
The aim and objective of this report is to look at what the SRC had to do before they
decided to make these two very important decisions, and what influenced their choice to
carry out these decisions. Press releases, corporate plans and research online will allow each
step which led to these decisions to be fully analysed and evaluated.
2.0 The Terms of Reference
This report is for Mr Matthews, the Administration Manager in the Southern Regional
College. The report is about the types of information used to make the two strategic
decisions, as well as more in depth analysis and evaluation of the appropriateness of the
information used. The report will firstly look at the proposal of the new campus in Craigavon
and what information influenced the decision for that to occur. Then, the information used
will be carefully studied which influenced the decision by SRC to withdraw the BTEC first
course in business.
The report will be presented at the next department meeting which will be held later this
year.
