Doctors can either work as a GP or work in a hospital as a specialist such as.

Entry requirements

- Five-year degree in medicine
- A two-year foundation course of general training
- 2-3 years of core medical training
- 4-7 years of specialist training in your specialist field

Nurses

- Largest group of professionals working within the HC
- There are several types of nurses including.

o Neonatal nurses
o Health visitors
o Practice nurses

Midwives

There are two types of Midwives

o Antenatal – these midwives look after the mother and the baby before birth by
giving advice such as diets and exercises to do
o Postnatal – these midwives look after the mum and baby after birth and supporting
the parents at home to look after the baby
