• If the fluid motion consists of symmetrical radial
flow in all directions proceeding from a point, the
point is known as simple source.
• If however, the flow is such that the fluid is
directed radially inwards to a point from all
directions in symmetrical manner, then the point
is known as sink.
• Source: creation of fluid at a point
• Sink: Annihilation of fluid at a point
