Today’s lesson requires your full attention as I am going to be discussing 3 selected vocabulary
items from the article ‘What made me the way I am?’. I have prepared worksheets for you all, I will
give everyone a worksheet with the 3 chosen words and blank spaces to fill in further information.

Teacher: Students, Can anyone tell me what you will be doing for Christmas this year?
Well my husband and I are deciding go to New York for a week. This will involve a lot of
plans as to where we can tour. Can anyone tell me what the word is for this?
Student: Is it planning teacher?
Teacher: Correct answer Jessica, it involves making plans for something, therefore I am?
Student: You are planning a trip to New York.
Teacher: Excellent, I am planning to go to New York for Christmas. What are your plans for
the holidays?
Student: My family and I will be visiting my grandparents in Thailand.
Teacher: That is wonderful Chang!
Student: We are having a huge family lunch at our home with about 60 people.
Teacher: Wow that sounds amazing Nicole, so I am sure you have all gathered that planning
involves making plans for something.
Teacher: Let us look at the pronunciation, let us all say it together ‘Planin , and again Planin’

Student: There are 2 syllables
