Topic 5 DQ 1
Explain how successful communication is used throughout a change process to convey vision and
strategies to stakeholders. What may be occurring with the communication process if the change
process begins to fail?
When leaders communicate the change vision effectively, it promotes organizational understanding and establishes a foundation for commitment from employees ( Tanner, 2019). Communication is important and needs to be done properly with all stakeholders. Through effective communication, stakeholders will understand the reasons that necessitates the change and will be more inclined to agree. The first step is simplicity and repetition. Keeping it simple and repeating information will foster understanding and retention ( Tanner, 2019). Critical stakeholder will have difficulty embracing a change vision that is hard to understand. Next, communication of the change vision must be two-way. The top down and bottom up approach shows active contribution to the change effort. Open communication and ongoing feedback will assist in participation of the whole organization (Tanner, 2019). If the communication process beings to break down, the change process begins to fail.
Therefore, it is important to constantly work on communication to prevent this from happening.
