Summary
In the opening scene Jacques uses a typewriter (tikmasjien).
Carina works at Montage as a journalist, but she does not have the position at the
company that she wants.
Carina Human writes a story to the head journalist of the company Rapport (where she
wants to work) to try and impress him. Unfortunately she does not succeed in
impressing him.
Carina wants to be a great journalist, just like her dad, Braam Human.
Gavin Greeff manages the team of journalists that Crania is a part of.
The team has to write a story about Jacques Rhynard.
Therefore Carina and Mysi (The Photographer) goes to watch Jacques receive his award
for best author for his book.
Mysi is Carina’s co-worker and takes all of the pictures for her articles.
Before Jacques receives his reward, he goes missing.
Carina then goes to see some of the people that personally know Jacques to find out
what they know about him.
Lena Aucamp says Jacques was at the same school as she was, he loved rugby and he
could write beautiful stories.
Carina asks Lena if she and Jacques were engaged, she says “no”.
Alicia Francke was Jacques publisher (uitgewer), she believes he left because of his ego
and she says that he was in love with himself.
It was thought that he disappeared because he had a fallout with Alicia Francke.
Jan-Paul is an architect.
Jan-Paul Otto says that Jacques is a good person.
He also says that they will be “vriende vir altyd”.
There is a flashback of Jan- Paul and Jacques, they got into a fight in school because of a
girl (that girl was Karlintjie Koekemoer).
Jacques tells the principle that the whole fight was his fault and therefore he lets Jan-
Paul off the hook.
Jan-Paul and Jacques therefore become friends.
