o Narrative (storytelling)
o Descriptive (describing vividly)
o Discursive (discussing both sides of a topic)
o Argumentative (taking a stance with reasons)
o Reflective (personal reflection, lessons learned)

o Verhalend (vertel ’n storie)
o Beskrywend (beskryf lewendig)
o Besprekend (bespreek albei kante van ’n saak)
o Argumentatief (neem ’n standpunt met redes)
o Reflektief (persoonlike terugdink, lesse geleer)
Section B: Long Transactional Writing (30 marks)
Afdeling B: Lang transaksioneel (30)

• You will get 4 topics from 4 categories.
• Choose 1 topic only.
• You must know the formats very well.
Category A:
• Any type of letter – friendly or formal:
o Request, Application, Business, Complaint, Sympathy, Congratulations,
Thanks
, o CV with cover letter (combination)
o Letter to the Press
o E-mail
Category B:
• Dialogue / Interview / Speech (formal or informal)
Category C:
• Review, Newspaper article, Magazine article
