area. For example, the Protea flower is native to South Africa.

Alien plants and Alien plants and animals that are not native to the country or

our indigenous plants. Such invasive vegetation can cause
both environmental and economic damage.

traditional ways of life.
International tourist This is when a tourist leaves his country by crossing his national
border, crossing the border of South Africa to enter the
country.
Poaching Illegal hunting and killing and capturing of animals, which is
against the law
Extinct When a plant or animal no longer exists. Endangered Plants
and animals that are in danger of extinction or habitat
destruction.
Endangered plants Endangered plants and animals are in danger of becoming
and animals extinct.
Red data list An international list of plants and animals classified as extinct,
threatened or endangered. Species on the list are protected
by conservation laws. For example, the Black Rhinoceros is
classified as endangered by the WWF (Worldwide Fund for
Nature)
Cape Agulhas The name of the town where the southernmost point of South
Africa and Africa is located
Umqusho This is a South African dish. It is especially popular in the Zulu
culture.
