Instructions on Making an Essay
-Ask yourself, ”What topic would impress my teacher or professor in my essay?”.
-Some topics like:
● Importance of the Day of the Dead Holiday
● Reason to keep up with your hygiene
● OR even; Why elections are vital in the United States could work
Make it relevant to your assigned homework
Assigned homework could be; Explain the significance of a court case in US History. Let's say
you want to talk about Roe V Wade (1973) and abortion.
Examples: DON’T- Make a topic on how one woman never got an abortion before Roe v Wade(1973),
DO- Talk about how certain women's life got easier before and after Roe v Wade(1973)
Start the introduction with sentence starters like…Roe v Wade in America caused many
great changes for women like X, Y, and Z.
OR
There are many life changes that Roe V Wade did in 1973 for many women in America like X, Y,
and Z.
When we make our remaining paragraphs, make sure they flow with the rest of the
paper. The reader needs to understand the point you are trying to make.
One paragraph needs to talk about X. Second paragraph needs to talk about Y. And…of
course the last needs to talk about Z.
Examples like: X became very appreciative when she got an abortion because of reasons 1, 2,
and 3. (End the sentence by introducing how X is related to Y in someway because trust me
they are connected and you just have to find out “the how”).
The same algorithm goes for future sentences until you reach your conclusion
paragraph and remember to make the essay flow so the reader can understand what
you are explaining.
For the conclusion sentence, you want to combine what you just wrote about from your
paragraphs BUT IN A SUMMARY while making the last sentence surprise the reader.
Example: Y did “this” because of Roe V Wade. Adding Z wanted to do “this” after Roe V Wade
was passed. While X finally felt better due to Roe V Wade so X can do “that thing”. Roe V Wade
