As disparities in access to mental health care persist, particularly in
underprivileged communities, telehealth emerges as a potential game-
changer. Review the evidence around the role of telehealth interventions
in bridging this gap, analysing the efficacy of delivering mental health
services to individuals who might otherwise face significant barriers to
care

Intro – 200-300 words

In a rapidly advancing technological environment, where mental health faces unprecedented
challenges, the urgency for innovative advances has become more evident than ever (Balcombe and
De Leo, 2021). Telehealth, a practice catalysed by the global COVID-19 pandemic, emerges as a
potentially transformative force capable of reconstructing the dynamics of mental health services.
This practice uses electronic information and communication technologies to support and provide
healthcare services interactions with patients, provide consultations, monitor health conditions, and
offer medical advice remotely (Perle and Nierenberg, 2013). Through the analysis of this concept, this
research seeks to delve into the evidence surrounding the impact of these interventions while
addressing existing inequalities. Inequities, encompassing factors such as stigma, limited awareness,
restricted access, language barriers, financial constraints, and time constraints, have historically posed
formidable obstacles to individuals seeking in-person mental health services (Perle and Nierenberg,
2013). However, the advent of telehealth has proven instrumental in mitigating many of these
hindrances. By scrutinizing the value of telehealth in reaching individuals facing significant barriers
to care, this study aims to provide practical insights through a sophisticated analysis that can guide
practices and policy for a more equal mental health landscape (Balcombe and De Leo, 2021).

Method – 300-500 words

To thoroughly delve into how telehealth interventions address mental health care disparities within
underprivileged communities, a meticulously fashioned search strategy was found useful. The process
began by searching and understanding the definition of search parameters, encompassing keywords
such as "telehealth," "mental health," "barriers," and "underprivileged communities." A balanced
approach between specificity and inclusivity was provided by the strategic use of Boolean operators
in the search queries. Furthermore, the search strings underwent strategic refinement to encompass an
exploration of various viewpoints on the research by manipulating the search question in numerous
ways. For instance, search strings such as "telehealth AND mental health disparities" alongside
