, EPIDEMIOLOGY AS A SCIENCE.
The primary goals and the purpose of infectious
diseases (ID) epidemiology are:
 Development of methods of preventive actions to
inadmissibility of ID occurrence,
 Development contraepidemic actions for their
termination in case of occurrence,
 Full liquidation of some of them in the certain
administrative territories and all over the world,
 Studying influence of natural and social factors on
occurrence and distribution of diseases in a human
society.

, DEFINITION
 Epidemiology of ID is a science about laws of
occurrence and continuous development of
epidemic process and methods of its studying;
continuously developing and studying preventive
and contraepidemic actions, the organization of
their introduction in practice for the prevention of
occurrence of ID among people, the termination of
these diseases in case of occurrence and for full
liquidation of some infections in the certain
administrative territories and on a global scale.

, THE OBJECT

 The object studied by the
epidemiology of ID are infectious
diseases as a process of interaction
between the pathologic agent and the
human organism.
 The epidemiology studies ID on a
population level.
