1) Which context did you select (developmental, educational, or
organisational)? Provide adetailed explanation of how you gathered the
information for answering the questions in this section.
-Developmental, In this process the psychologist want to understand child’s
competencies and resources, and of the caregiving and learning environments
most likely to help a child make fullest use of his or her developmental potential
by assessing the child’s development physical, cognitive, social and emotional
development (from birth to 7 years old) in order to find the child’s difficulties,
then the sooner a child’s difficulties can be identified, the sooner an intervention
can be implemented and, hence, the sooner a child can be assisted. This
process is done using developmental screening measures and diagnostic
measures, it involves the child being assessed and the child’s parents or care
giver (Foxcroft and Roodt , 2018)
2) What are the reasons for testing in this context? Refer to the context in
general, but also to the specific environment that you explored. Refer to
Chapter 15 in the textbook if you are unsure of what is required here.
-The growth and development that happens throughout childhood has a major
impact on later development. the reason for testing in this context is for
assessing a child’s development at an early age o that the sooner a child’s
difficulties are identified, the sooner an intervention can be implemented and, and
therefore the sooner the child can be helped.
