chondrocyten liggen telkens in een
lacune (L; omcirkelde regio) dewelke in
feite een kleine holte is in de
extracellulaire kraakbeenmatrix. Vlak
rondom de lacune vind je een gebied
van de matrix dat rijker is aan GAGs en
armer aan collageen. Men noemt dit
gebied de celhof of territoriale matrix
(TM; basofiel door extra GAGs). Tussen
de territoria vind je dan interterritoriale
matrix (IT). De synthese van matrix
wordt bevorderd door groeihormonen,
schildklierhormoon en testosteron en
wordt vertraagd door corticosteroïden.
Territoriale matrix (= celhof): interterritoriale matrix:
- direct rondom chondrocyten - bestaat uit eiwitvezels
- bestaat uit GAG (sterke basofilie)
