, Hard to find – Sinesipo Jojo

R Line analysis
Line 1-4 :
 the poet describes how words sometimes come freely.
1 Word are everywhere  Hyperbole: the availability of word is exaggerated using
“everywhere” which indicates an abundance that is a
result of reading , abundance, words are all over
 The speaker highlights the abundance of words
 Everywhere –Words are common- CONTRAST with fly
out
 Metaphor: This is a metaphor, comparing words to
something that is omnipresent. It suggests that words are
so prevalent in our lives that they can be found
everywhere, highlighting their ubiquity and importance.
2 daily  “Daily: This line establishes that words are a global
presence in daily life
 Is one worded- emphasizes the availability of words every
day.
3 we read them, and they fly out  Simile: is used to describe how quickly words fly out
when we are provoked. The comparison being made is
between the speed and abundance of words that are
spoken when someone is provoked to the idea of how
quickly and easily they are spoken. This process is
somewhat mindless or automatic – we do not think before
we speak. There may be certain situations or stimuli that
causes us to speak without thinking – thus they fly out.
 Fly out – escape.
 “They fly out”: in contrast with ‘everywhere’
 Words are readable and available; at times they are
scarce when triggered by emotion
 Personification: This is a form of personification,
attributing human-like action (flying) to words, which are
not actually capable of physical movement. It creates a
vivid image of words being spoken energetically or
impulsively.
4 like nobody’s business when we are provoked…  ‘nobody’s business”- great intensity/amount.
 Simile: "they fly out like nobody’s business" This is a
simile, comparing the act of words coming out to
something happening "like nobody’s business." The
phrase "like nobody’s business" is an idiom that means
very quickly or effortlessly, emphasizing the rapid and
abundant nature of how words are spoken when
provoked.
 Provoked – trigger/prompt a feeling
(passion/anger)Words are readable and available, at
times they are scarce when triggered by emotion
 The ellipsis: stresses the difficulty/frustration that the
speaker experiences when words cannot come out.
 Hyperbole: This is a hyperbolic expression, exaggerating
the extent or intensity of the action (words flying out). It
emphasizes the idea that words are spoken with great
speed and enthusiasm when provoked.
