during the preschool period.

John Bowlby
played a significant role in the development of attachment theory.
The main conclusion of Bowlby's report was that a warm, intimate,
and continuous relationship with a mother or permanent mother
substitute was essential for optimal child development.
Bowlby argued that being close to a caregiver was crucial for human
survival, as it provided protection from predation.
Bowlby observed specific protest behaviours in infants when
separated from a caregiver, such as crying and temper tantrums.
If the attachment behaviours failed to bring back the caregiver,
