Choose TWO (2) of these reasons (ones that you consider to be very important) from the study guide and explain why you consider these reasons very important. To encourage and motivate learners Assessment can also provide opportunity for teachers to encourage and motivate learners. For example, once a topic has been introduced, a teacher can engage students in an open discussion to determine how pupils can progress in their learning To provide feedback to learners Assessment is a valuable tool that enables instructors to provide immediate and ongoing feedback to improve student learning. Providing feedback means giving students an explanation of what they are doing correctly AND incorrectly, with the focus of the feedback on what the students is doing right. It is most productive to a student’s learning when they are provided with an explanation as to what is accurate and inaccurate about their work.
