, Hoofdstuk 1
Oorsprong van wetenschap

* Empirie is de basis voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek, vooral theoretisch.
* We leren elke dag, wetenschap staat in ons midden, maatschappelijk verschijnsel.
* Zonder te blijven leren, zou wetenschap niet vooruitkomen.

* Leren hoe je moet leren; onderzoek, waarneming, interpretaties, etc.

* Naast natuurwetenschap, sociale wetenschap; hierbij zijn verschillende perspectieven
enorm van belang. Nieuwe manier van kennis en leren.

* Kenmerken van wetenschap; nieuwsgierig, creatief, toeval, nieuwe kennis, kritisch
re ectief, systematisch, sociaal gedeeld.

* Begonnen in Griekenland, rondom medische wetenschap, mar ook wiskundige
wetenschap. Vervolgens meer loso sch; hoe gaan we tot kennis komen: rationeel!
* Continu blijven verdiepen en aanvullen op 1 onderwerp. Zo vergroot je (nieuwe) kennis.
* Begon bij Grieken: waren als eerste kritisch, niet zomaar alles aannemen; zelf.




Hoofdstuk 2
De wetenschappelijke methode

* Deductie als argument; Uitspraak, voorwaarde, dus het is zo … (als p dan q)
* Deductie om kennis te krijgen; Theorie, voorspelling, onderzoeken. (Falsi ëren?)

* Inductie als argument; D-N, maar waarschijnlijk. (Inductieprobleem>niet alles)
* Inductie om kennis te krijgen; Observaties doen, theorie vormen, patronen. (Veri ëren)
* Problemen van inductie; niet alles zien, iedereen ziet het anders, lastig hypothese a eid.

* Abductie; patronen/hypothesen vormen voor waarnemingen, die testen, nieuw patroon.

* Context of discovery: hoe worden theorieën en hypothesen gevormd?
* Context of justi cation: hoe worden theorieën en hypothesen getoetst tegen bewijs?
Waarom is die theorie dus zo? Hoezo geldt …?

* Model > versimpeling van de werkelijkheid.
* Wetmatigheden > regelmatigheden en patronen: het is zo! (Niet in sociale wetenschap!)
* Experiment > testen van hypothesen of theorieën.
* Hypothese > Vanuit theorie opgesteld, een verwachting, die je direct kan onderzoeken.
* Theorie > logisch & consistent geheel van uitspraken en feiten. Verklaart verschijnselen.

* Wetenschappelijke revolutie; nieuwe manier van denken. HOE kom je tot de kennis,
maar ook veel nieuwe kennis en methoden hiervoor.

* Wetenschappelijke methode: Observatie (inductie) > theorie/hypothese > testen van
hypothese (deductie) > conclusie/theorie
