• Some methods of project management as practiced in
construction, infrastructure and large-scale product
development are ill-suited for projects where the
solutions or end-item requirements are uncertain or
subject to change.
• This is the case for software development projects, and
in 2001 a group of 17 developers published The Agile
Manifesto report wherein they proposed them principles
of a form of management better-suited to software
development, namely:
1. Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.
2. Working software over comprehensive documentation.
3. Customer collaboration over contract negotiation.
4. Responding to change over following a plan.
