Partie 1
Elise decided to rent a studio near the prison. Her sisters thought she was crazy.
They asked if she was leaving Paris for him. Everyone knew that Sam was
transferred to Alsace. He was in Ensisheim. He was in prison for life.
There are 3 sisters. Eldest insisted «pour lui». Second exclaimed «je ne te
comprends pas». Third adds «tu divagues». Elise says she does not understand
herself either. She has no choice and she is moving.
Poor Elise had behaved like this since the trial of Sam. The Eldest says «je te l’ai
répété cent fois et je te le répété pour ton bien : tu devrais consulter quelqu’un.»
The eldest sister wanted her to see pyschiatrist. Elise gave them a business card.
On the business card : Professor Simonin ; hospital doctor ; works in private and
public services at Sainte-Anne ; graduated in pyschiatry, pyschology and science.
« un ponte ». Elise said that she had been seeing the doctor for 4 months.
The sisters were relieved and soothed. Elise said that he approved of her moving
plan because it is a fundamental stage of her healing process. « car je suis
malade ».
The eldest sister is pleased that Elise is getting treated. The others agreed. He
said that for two sessions a month at rue de Vaugirard. The evocation of the rue
de Vaugirard helped to appease the sisters. It was rich and honourable.

The elder sister was worried about Elise’s budget. Elise is not concerned about it
because money is incomparable to the death of Laure. She cannot say Laure’s
name. Her daughter that was raped and killed. The sisters did not want to hurt
Elise. They left after having tea.
Elise was lying. She stole the card from her friend. She has never met the doctor.
She lied to comfort her sisters. She rests and then packs her suitcases.

Situated on rue Steinberg in a recent residence.

It offered decent comfort.
Every element stank of economy : grainy white walls, chipboard closets, pine
maple chairs,
lineoleum on the floor, three lamps with a decorative function, the toilet seats
too tight, a plastic shower, a sofa of inconstitent cushions, a bed with sagging
planks, hospital crockery, cutlery : forks did not bite and knives did not cut.
Elise inspected the home. She blamed herself for signing the lease. « de quoi se
punissait-elle en s’installant ici ? Ensisheim did have dapper and pretty houses.
The agency had offered her other places however an instinct drove her here. «

hedges. There was a black cat there sometimes : it disappeared often when
