, ECS3711 ASSESSMENT 4 2026 (REFLECTIVE PORTFOLIO)

DUE DATE: 23 OCTOBER 2026

1. BIOGRAPHY

I am a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduate who values continuous
learning, personal development and the acquisition of knowledge. My academic journey
has strengthened my understanding of independent learning, problem-solving and critical
thinking. Through the ECS3711 module, I aim to develop my academic skills, deepen my
understanding of the subject content and reflect on my experiences as an online learner. I
believe that education requires commitment, self-discipline and a willingness to learn from
both achievements and challenges. I view learning as an ongoing process that contributes
to personal growth and the development of new perspectives.

2. RESEARCH STATEMENT

This portfolio represents my commitment to academic integrity, independent learning and
critical reflection. It documents my engagement with the ECS3711 module through lesson
activities, assessments, interactions and reflections on online learning. The portfolio aims to
demonstrate my understanding of the learning process while identifying areas of personal
and academic development.

My approach to academic research and writing is guided by honesty, accuracy, fairness
and respect for intellectual property. I acknowledge the contributions of other scholars
through appropriate in-text citations and a reference list. Academic integrity requires
students to distinguish their own ideas from information obtained from other sources and to
represent evidence accurately.

I believe research should involve more than collecting and repeating information. It requires
critical examination, interpretation and the development of reasoned conclusions.
Systematic inquiry allows researchers to investigate questions, examine evidence and
develop knowledge through appropriate research processes (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).
