Question 1
Study the image and the poem below, both of which are related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Source: Shutterstock (2026)
Artificial Intelligence
A mind of circuits, lines, and code.
That learns the paths that humans have showed.
It speaks our words and solves our tasks,
And answers the questions that we ask.
Yet though it thinks in ways so new,
It learns from everything we do.
A tool of wonder, bright and strange.
Reflecting on how our world can change.

Non-literary pieces texts are produced in a variety of forms and serve lots of different
purposes. Non-literary texts have different features that serve to meet the purpose of the text.
Non-literary texts are made up of many things like pictures and words. Non-literary texts
provide information using both pictures and words. The target audience (the readers for whom
the text is intended) usually influences the writer of the non-literary text. The author writer uses
different words and sentence patterns depending on the purpose of the text, the audience and
the relationship they have with the audience. These words and sentence structures create the
register of the text, which is usually formal. These words and sentence structures create the

Question 1.1: Draft Essay
The Use of Artificial Intelligence for Higher Education Students
Introduction
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an important part of everyday life, including higher
education. The picture shows a computer chip with the letters “AI” surrounded by
glowing lines that look like a brain. This shows how AI connects information and helps
people solve problems. The poem describes AI as something that learns from humans.
Both the picture and the poem show that AI is a tool that can be used in different ways.
AI can help students with their studies, but it also has some challenges. I believe that AI
can be useful for students if they use it carefully and honestly.
, Benefits of Artificial Intelligence for Higher Education Students
There are several benefits of using AI for students in higher education. AI can help
students save time. For example, AI tools can help students find information quickly,
check their grammar, and even help them plan their essays. This means students can
focus on understanding their work rather than spending hours on small tasks. Second,
AI can make learning more personal. Some AI programs can see where a student is
struggling and give extra practice or explanations. This helps students learn at their own
speed. According to Bühler's theory of language functions, AI can act as a
"representational" tool because it provides information and facts to students (Bühler,
1934). The poem also says AI "answers the questions that we ask," which shows how
AI can help students when they need information and it can help students who cannot
attend classes. For example, AI-powered translation tools can help students who study
in a language that is not their first language. This makes education more accessible for
everyone. AI can make learning faster, more personal, and more open to all students.
