order to support the overall objectives of an organisation. For UHL, an effective warehousing

primary purpose is to ensure that products are available at the right place and at the right time
while avoiding unnecessary costs. A strategically designed warehouse network can allow UHL to
consolidate inventory, improve order fulfilment and create greater coordination between
procurement, storage, transportation and distribution activities (Rushton, Croucher & Baker,
2022).
