DPR2605 Assignment 1 Semester 2 2026 - Due 12 August 2026 ASSESSMENT 01_2026 INTRODUCTION [2.5] The introduction must provide a general overview of each topic that was discussed in this assessment. While writing the introduction, a logical flow of ideas needs to be maintained. The introduction should not have been written in bullet format, but rather in essay format. APPLICATION QUESTION 42 The Women for Change (WFC) is one of the country’s largest anti-GBV movements that uses the power of social media to drive national attention and meaningful change in South Africa. In 2025, they launched The Purple Movement which demanded urgent government intervention and action against the gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) crisis in South Africa. As a PR practitioner you are asked to use the DOTMABE formula to that develop a GVBF educational campaign that is targeted at Unisa 1st year male students in your specific community. The campaign must use social media, and you are allocated a period of one week to do this campaign. In your campaign, highlight the strategies you will use to meet this targeted audience, campaign strategies, campaign activities, and what communication and evaluation tools you will use in this campaign. The allocated budget will be R1.5 million, so you need to include a breakdown of how this budget will be utilized in your campaign. The budget needs to be presented in table format. The DOTMABE formula includes the following steps: 1. defining the problem, 6 2. setting the objectives, 4 3. target group, 2 4. developing the message (12) • campaign name 2 • campaign slogan 1 • campaign message 2 • campaign logo 3 • communication tools 4 5. activities, 7 6. budget, 8 7. review and evaluation, 3 We want to see that the students applied each step in the process according to the formula, please use subheadings NOT numbering in your answer so the marker can easily access your answer. Students should demonstrate that they have done research and can define the problem of GBVF in South Africa. We need to see that the students have developed an original campaign that have clear objectives, campaign message (campaign name, slogan, logo) and activities (activities must compliment the social media mandate of the campaign) that are meant to inform the targeted group as specified in the question. The campaign plan must demonstrate the activities that will take place in the 1-week period set for this campaign, and we need to see a detailed breakdown of the cost of the campaign in table format. Remember the campaign must be educational as stated in the question.
