• Improve skills of SA citizens
• Improve skills of workers
• Invest in education and training
IMPACT
POSITIVE
o Increase the number of skilled workers
o Improve service delivery
NEGATIVE
o Time-consuming and an admin burden
o Difficult to monitor
NON-COMPLIANCE WAYS TO COMPLY
• Prevent access to training • Display law in the workplace
• Prevent access to learnerships • Register with SETA’s
• Unfair promotion of skills • Provide opportunities for all workers to improve
skills
CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATION
• Can get a compliance order.
• Can face large fines if law is not followed.
• Operating license can be revoked.
• May not offer apprenticeships to workers or claim grants.
