Mind Map on a Personality Theory

Maslow’s Humanistic Theory of Personality

1. Central Idea of the Mind Map

At the centre of the mind map write:

Maslow’s Humanistic Theory of Personality

Maslow’s humanistic theory focuses on the idea that human beings are
naturally motivated to grow, develop and achieve their fullest potential.
Unlike earlier theories that emphasised unconscious conflict or
environmental conditioning, Maslow believed that people are inherently
good and are driven by an inner desire to improve themselves.
According to Maslow, human behaviour is largely motivated by the
desire to satisfy a hierarchy of needs. These needs begin with basic
physiological requirements and gradually move towards higher
psychological and self-fulfilment needs. When lower needs are satisfied,
individuals become motivated to pursue higher-level needs that
ultimately lead to self-actualisation, which represents the realisation of
one's full potential.
