Unemployment Insurance Act 63 of 2001 allows dependants of a deceased
contributor to claim benefits from the Unemployment Insurance Fund. The purpose
of these dependant benefits is to give short term financial support to people who
relied on the deceased contributor for support (University of South Africa, 2015, p.
103).
