1. Tell me
about I have 6 years of experience with direct patient care and love now being
yourself an RN. I found my passion for nursing in high school when I realized I
could gain skills to help people in way others couldn't. I took Night
classes to become a CNA. I won first place in a state HOSA competition
for sports medicine and I wanted to keep gaining skills. I went on a
mission to Argentina and learned fluent Spanish and even performed
life saving CPR on someone. That drove me to seek that feeling again. I
am dedicated, caring and a team player
2. Strengths Thrive around people and love bouncing ideas ott of other people
as a team I'm very organized and can easily multitask
I adapt really well and am a fast learner
3. Weakness When I started out as a new grad I wasn't as proficient in starting IV's
as some of the other nurses so I started asking for every opportunity I
could to start IV's for other nurses. I shadowed an EMT in the ER for 4
hours and I took an IV certification course. I have really improved but
still seek every opportunity to start one
4. Time you made
a mistake During my capstone, I was giving a patient his morning medications, I
scanned them all in, educated and the patient took them. A little later, The
patient began having more anxiety we investigated and it turned out
one of his sublingual medications was swallowed. The pharmacy said it had
no ettect that way and the doctors prescribed another dose. That
moment taught me to be very cautious and to not rely on the scanner
and instead follow my 5 medication rights and that
5. Disagree with has kept my patients safe since. I was lucky to have extra experience
a coworker as a nurse apprentice since I had a 6 month orientation and got to
work individually with every nurse on my floor.
One of the new nurse aids charted a HR of 203. Luckily the U has a
sepsis score and I was able to recognize within minutes there was a

change and quickly went
to assess my patient. The
patient had A fib so I
manually assessed the
radial pulse. I took my
coworker aside and asked
him if he saw the HR that
he charted and if he
