Tell me about a time you had to deal with stress? How did you handle it? correct answersstress is
totally natural it is all in how you choose to handle it
- time I dealt with stress in the hosptial liver transplant who was very sick when coming up from
OR
- the doctors but in orders and my whole page was full with them
- I had to quickly shift through them and decide what was most important to do first with my
crashing patient. This can become very overwhelming and even stress
- as a result I took it a few orders at a time, prioritize the task and completed them with the help
of my surrounding coworkers
- I learned that there are gonna be stressful times but taking a deep break and taking it one task at
a time really helps in stressful situtaion and on top teamwork is super important in these times

choose which pt you get sometimes you get a super sick pt or the stat coming to your room.
-abdominal surgery stat that came to our unit
- only had 1 peripheral IV and fluids running with a very low pressure that was potentially
requiring intubation, to be lined, and pressors. Even though I was a new nurse I had to step up
and take leadership of my patients and coworkers helping me land pt.
- Delegate tasks (Get someone to get equipment for intubation, to pull meds to, set up for a
central line)
- all things couldnt do myself but bc I was able to take a leadership role and help delegate task
we were able to stable the pt.
