How to Use Retrospective Tools
Retrospective meeting
The project team meets to explore their work and processes during a retrospective
meeting. Some teams may use an external facilitator to help uncover more detailed,
objective feedback.
Retrospectives work well when they are scheduled regularly. If a team expects a
retrospective after each iteration, they are more likely to follow their recommended
actions for improvement or correction.
Some common tools used to record retrospective discussion points are listed here:
Miro board or whiteboard
The team uses a Miro board or whiteboard to list all the things that worked, didn’t
work, and can be improved in a tabular format. The first two columns list the team’s
processes and the work done on the product. The last column lists the actions to be
taken after the retrospective.
