Describe two strategies for developing clarity and conciseness in communication. Discuss
some problems that could occur when the peer-review process "breaks down."
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively has become an increasingly sought-after skill
in everyday life. Communicating clearly is based on direct and strait forward points. When
communicating, if you want to give a conscious and clear message you need to maintain
precision of the topic, utilize strait forward words, picks your words intentionally, describe
expressions, avoid excessive details, avoid repetitive words, redundant words and extra
determiners and modifiers, focus on the length of the sentence and know your audience.
Problems that can occur during the process of peer review that can affect the authenticity of the
review is failure to review materials, maintain confidentiality and being bias. Peer reviewers
must maintain confidentiality, fairly assess work, and carefully review materials to ensure that it
is scientifically promising and ethically acceptable “commonalities include the obligations to
avoid biases in reporting or reviewing, to be honest and transparent, and to report information
accurately and completely, all for the sake of protecting the integrity of the paper and facilitating
progress without wasting resources or exposing other parties to unnecessary or unjustifiable risk”
(Itlis, 2017).

That is a good point, being in a different expertise might help a lot to be unbiased and give
quality feedback. However, researchers who read, write and review articles should be on
common interest to be able to understand the research. Any weaknesses in your peer review
process are magnified, as your reviewers will come up against them multiple times. And a poorly
designed peer review process can result in unhappy reviewers who fail to deliver quality reviews
and challenge the topic. If a reviewer has no knowledge on the topic what so ever, would it
provide a good review?

I was mesmerized to read your post, hilariously we have common thoughts on communication
and apparently peer review process (I didn’t read your post until I posted). I also think that for a
peer review to be successful, it should attend to comprehensively, clearly, and accurately
reporting methods and results. What are some of the methods that can be used when peer
reviewing to avoid any discrepancies?

My husband has always been a strait forward person. Communication is not one of his strongest
skill but as an Architect he needs to communicate important information that need details, but he
says too much detail might ruin the idea and too little detail they might do the wrong thing.
Detail in communication is important because it clearly explains to a person an idea that can help
solve many dilemmas. I like my papers to be short but gets strait to the points. I feel that if I
write too much a new idea will be introduced in the paper and the main point of the paper will be
forgotten from the audience perception. Is it favorable for managers to short and strait to the
point to employees? What if some details are left out that can be very important?

I believe that administrative management should cater to the generation. Adapt communication
based on the organizational culture, generation, and mission to obtain favorable outcomes.
Design communication training based on the generation, since the new generation way of
communicating is advancing gradually with the new technologies and ideologies it is important
for employers to know way to effectively maintain communication. I know it is hard for me to
learn new communication skills such as emojis, short videos, FB and all sort of social media
gadgets but for the sake being able to communicate with future generation such as my kids I
rather learn. Same should apply to a work place.
