The name of the application that will be Critically Appraised is The Chief Complaint.
AUTHOR
The application The Chief Complaint was created by Dr. Chris Feier, MD, whom is an Assistant
Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at Los Angeles
County as well as the University of Southern California (LAC+USC) Medical Center. For the
application different physicians were utilized as contributors for different sections of the app.
The people in charge of editing the information on the application are Craig Torres-Ness, M.D.
and Erik Akopian, M.D, (The Chief Complaint,2022). The providers in charge of the providing
the actual content of the application were Max Fitzgerald, M.D., Ariel Bowman, M.D., Ryan
Raam, M.D., and Brian Doane, M.D. The illustrations were provided by Sonia Johnson, M.D and
the drug index was done and provided by Helen Lee, PharmD (The Chief Complaint, 2022).
ENDORSEMENT
The application is not endorsed by any entities as none are listed and there are also no licenses
stated or present on the app. However, due to the information provided being referenced from
Los Angeles County (LAC) + USC Medical Center and Keck School of Medicine as well as
having the Physicians graduating from these schools and recommending the application to their

The application The Chief Complaint is available for both android and apple products and can be
utilized on a mobile phone as well as a tablet or iPad. The application is very easy to use and

AESTHETICS
The application is very easy to use, once opening the app each body system is labeled and
colored along with having a picture pertaining to that body system such as cardiology has a heart
as the main picture and neurology has a brain associated. Towards the bottom of the screen there
is also a horizontal section with three sections for drugs that has different types of medications
