Hi Prof. Lee and everyone!

OMG it’s week 7!

Upon completing the adapts regarding Nutrition or gastrointestinal, biliary health and Nutrition,
and diabetes is very insightful. Having gastrointestinal health is imperative. I call it the second
brain because when something is wrong, you will know the symptoms, including indigestion,
gas, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation. “Throughout the
gastrointestinal (GI) tract, a variety of bacteria support optimal metabolic, digestive, and
immune functions that keep the body healthy” (Zhang et al., 2015). When it comes to biliary
health, it is vital because bile moves waste from the liver and aids in our digestion when it comes
to fats.
One's Nutrition is critical when it comes to diabetes. Diabetes is a disease due to the body's
inability to produce insulin, so eating healthy is crucial for one's body to regulate the insulin
receptors.
“The purpose of carbohydrate counting is to establish an appropriate balance between the
amount of carbohydrates eaten and the insulin to regulate the blood glucose level” (Grodner et
al., 2023).
