Greetings,
I am Angelica Waller, MSN, BSN, RN, and I bring eight years of nursing experience,
encompassing both licensed practical nurse (LPN) and registered nurse (RN) roles. Following
the completion of my Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree in 2018, I embarked on a
path to advance my career. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from
Chamberlain University in '21 and subsequently attained my Master of Science in Nursing
(MSN) from the same institution in '22. I am progressing through the Doctor of Nursing Practice
(DNP) program, a milestone of which I am exceedingly proud.
My professional nursing background is diverse and extensive. I began my career by rotating
through various medical-surgical units, psychiatric hospitals, and rehabilitation centers.
Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in long-term care, post-operative care, and
assisted living facilities. In 2019, I transitioned to a role as a traveling nurse, driven by my
passion for exploration, patient care, and continuous learning within different healthcare settings.
Throughout this experience, I have encountered a spectrum of critically ill patients, managing
diagnoses such as heart disease, COVID-19, and respiratory and kidney issues. Currently, I am
employed in a step-down unit catering to telemetry needs, with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging
from 1:6 to 1:7. Alongside these experiences, I assumed responsibilities as a clinical supervisor
at a long-term care facility, a role that provided immense fulfillment.
Looking forward, I aspire to leverage my DNP qualification to assume higher- level
responsibilities within the healthcare sector. Specifically, I aim to contribute to the establishment
of a forthcoming hospital within my current organization, scheduled to commence operations in
August '24.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I find immense joy in my roles as a mother and partner. I am
blessed with two biological children, a 2-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son as well as three
wonderful bonus children, ranging in age from 2 to 14 years old. Currently engaged, I am
eagerly anticipating my wedding, scheduled for August 24, 2024. Balancing the demands of
work, motherhood, academia, and wedding preparations, I am energized by the opportunities and
challenges this year presents.
I am excited about the forthcoming academic journey and the insights it will provide as I prepare
to practice as a DNP nurse.
Best regards, Angelica Waller, MSN, BSN, RN
