FACTORS AFFECTING DISTRIBUTION AND DENISTY
CLIMATE
Rainfall – access to drinking water and agriculture
Liveable/habitable temp – not too hot or not too cold
TOPOGRAPHY/ SOIL
Topography – areas are too steep and can’t be built on
Soil – fertile soil allows for agriculture
RESOURCES
Minerals like gold, diamond, coal, iron can be converted to
wealth which attracts people
Water is a necessary resource – people want to live where
water is easily accessible
URBANISATION AND THE BRIGHT LIGHTS SYNDROME
Urbanisation – the movement of people from rural to urban
areas. People move to cities for jobs, healthcare, education
etc.
