Master Chemistry with Premium Notes, Assignments, and Lab Reports – Now Available on Stuvia! Are you finding Chemistry to be a challenge? Struggling to keep up with complex reactions, formulas, and lab experiments? You’re not alone, and that’s why I’ve created a collection of top-quality Chemistry notes, assignments, and lab reports to help you succeed. These study materials are now available on Stuvia, and they’re designed to make your learning experience easier, more efficient, and—dare I say it—more enjoyable! What’s Special About My Chemistry Resources? 1. Clear, Concise, and Easy-to-Understand Notes Chemistry can be intimidating with its complicated theories, detailed equations, and extensive terminologies. But my notes break down these concepts into simple, digestible explanations, so you can grasp even the trickiest material quickly. I cover everything you need, from fundamental concepts like atomic structure and periodic trends to more advanced topics like organic chemistry, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and chemical bonding. Each set of notes is well-organized with summaries, key definitions, visual aids, and examples that connect theory to practice. 2. Comprehensive Assignments to Reinforce Learning It’s one thing to read through notes and another to apply what you’ve learned. That’s why my assignments are designed to deepen your understanding through practice. These assignments mirror typical course problems and come complete with step-by-step solutions, tips, and explanations that guide you through each question. Whether you're preparing for homework, quizzes, or exams, these assignments will help solidify your knowledge and ensure you’re ready for any challenge. 3. Detailed Lab Reports That Make Practical Work a Breeze Lab work is one of the most hands-on and often complicated parts of studying Chemistry. My lab reports are your go-to resource for understanding every step of the experiment process, from the objective and methodology to the calculations, analysis, and conclusions. Each report is thorough, including accurate data, observations, and error analysis. Whether you’re working on titrations, reaction kinetics, or qualitative analysis, these lab reports will serve as clear and reliable guides for your own experiments. 4. Save Time with Ready-Made Study Materials No need to waste hours trying to put together study materials from scratch. I’ve done the hard work of condensing textbooks, summarizing lectures, and organizing key information into easy-to-follow notes. With these ready-made materials, you can jump straight into effective studying and make the most of your time. Whether you’re cramming for a test or looking to reinforce your understanding throughout the semester, you’ll find exactly what you need to get ahead. 5. Student-Friendly Pricing for Premium Quality I know that being a student often means budgeting every dollar. That’s why all my materials are affordably priced, so you get premium quality notes, assignments, and lab reports without overspending. You can purchase individual sets for specific topics, or save even more by buying bundles that cover entire units or courses. If you’re ready to take your Chemistry studies to the next level, head over to Stuvia and explore my collection of notes, assignments, and lab reports. These materials are designed to boost your grades, deepen your understanding, and help you tackle any Chemistry challenge that comes your way. Grab your study resources now, and make Chemistry a subject you can truly master!

ASSIGNMENT 3
STUDENT NAME:
Due time: Wednesday December 15th, start of class
Guidelines:
- Answer questions directly on the booklet and hand it back to the teacher before the due date.
- You may also complete this assignment electronically, but it is your responsibility to print it in time
for the due date.
- Unless major circumstances prevent it (quarantine for example), only paper versions will be
accepted. Only students who have let the teacher know in advance about these circumstances will
be allowed to submit their work online. Assignments submitted online without prior
communication will NOT be graded.
- No make-up assignment. This is the only one you will get.
- Missed deadline will lead to a 10% daily penalty until day 5, after which you will get a 0 grade.
Extensions may be given if you explain the reasons you cannot submit it on time more than 24h
before the due time.
- The teacher will answer questions about this assignment by MIO, at the end of lectures (time
permitting), and during office hours.

1) Fill in the following table: find the hybridization state of the central atom in the following

Questions 2-5: Which of the following statements is incorrect. Only one per question!
2) Which of the following statements is incorrect? About hybridization: (4 points)
a. Hybrid orbitals are obtained by linear combination of atomic orbitals.
b. sp2 hybrid orbitals are obtained by combining one s orbital and two p orbitals.
c. The energy of the hybrid orbitals is the energy of the lowest atomic orbital.
d. Hybridization is an amendment made to the localized electron model to reconcile it with
the atomic orbital theory.
e. Hybridization can also involve d orbitals.

3) Which of the following statements is incorrect? About molecular orbitals: (4 points)
a. Molecular orbitals (MOs) are obtained by linear combination of atomic orbitals (AOs).
b. The combination of two atomic orbitals always yields two molecular orbitals.
c. A molecular orbital describes the region of space where an electron shared by two atoms
is most likely to be found.
d. The number of molecular orbitals is always superior to the number of atomic orbitals they
were created from.
e. None of the above.

4) A  (pi) bond is the result of: (4 marks)
a. The overlap of two s orbitals
b. The overlap of an s orbital and a p orbital
c. The overlap of two p orbitals along their axes
d. The sidewise overlap of two parallel p orbitals
e. The sidewise overlap of two s orbitals

5) Which of the following statements is true? (4 points)
a. All antibonding MOs are higher in energy than the atomic orbitals of which they are
composed.
b. Antibonding MOs have electron density mainly outside the space between the two nuclei.
c. Electrons are never found in an antibonding MO.
d. Both a. and b. are true.
e. Both a. and c. are true.
