I have developed a system that works for me through my other ratings. What do you have to offer the team? Safe, honest, reliable , flexible team player and get along well with others. What do you think will be your largest challenge working for SkyWest? Being on reserve intiallay if I commute may be a challenage but I know that is a neceassary part of starting any 121 job. What do you anticipate being your biggest challenge during training? I don't look at training as havng any paricularlyhard part as long as you prepare and are attentative durng training. Describe your learning style Repetition What do you feel would be the most challenging part for you being on reserve at a different base? Not being at home with family, but I understand it gets better once you hold a line. Skywest will spend tens of thousands of dollars on your training. Why should I trust that you will make it through and complete ground school. Because im goal oriented. When I have something I want to achieve, im motivated to finish that task. I also love learning about anything aviation related Why I did not fly for a Part 135 company first and would it not be better to first gain some experience in such an organization prior to applying with a Part 121 company? I felt like i would enjoy flight instructing and it would help me become a better pilot and learn crucial decision making skills and later train my family. What do you think makes a SkyWest Aviator? Knowing the plane, professional language and apperance, though decision making and a team player How would you sell yourself if the CEO were sitting here right now? I believe that with the proper training I can make a great hard working First Officer that values the reputation of the company and follow SOPs What qualities do you bring to the table that benefit SKW? Hard work, Persistance, and calm. What makes you a good pilot? Being calm, a thourough decision maker, and always thinking ahead What makes a good First officer and why? A pilot who can function as part of a team, learn from those who can impart their knowledge to him and also be assertive. He must also question any action , in a respectful manner, that appears to go contrary to company procedures. How often do you call in sick? When I'm sick. Once every couple of years Have you ever been late for work? Yes. But I know the imporatnce of being on time in the aviation industry and being late will not be tolerated. What is integrity? Integrity is having a character of Honesty and strong Moral principles, not wavering. Tell me about a time your integrity was called into question Said I would work for a friend, I did and they were upset that I couldn't work as much as they wanted and felt like I lied to them about what I could do. I had set expectations with them and ended leaving the job because of conflicting schedules. Said I worked over my hours. I proved I didn't with our time keeping system there was a mistake. One of the requirements to get your ATP is to be of good moral character. Tell me about a time you demonstrated good moral character. As a CFI, I care deeply about the training I give to my students. I don't only want them to pass, but I want them to be safe pilots in the future. What is a professional pilot? Being a successful pilot requires a combination of skills. It's not all mathematical and technical. You also have to think creatively, act under pressure, and adopt a mentality fitting for a role of such great responsibility. How would you exhibit professionalism as you just explained? Exhibiting professionalism is more than just an appearance; professionalism is how you carry yourself. A professional always approaches individuals with kindness, respect and is ready to help in anyway shape or form and is desires to to a great job
